Not getting enough quality sleep isn’t fun. Feeling like you haven’t recovered from the day before and have already used up tomorrow’s tiredness before you have even started today is a fast track to disaster.
Sadly, approximately 1 in 3 adults claim to not get enough sleep or experience sleep disturbances or disorders that impact their sleep quality. And Gallup News claims over half of Americans surveyed said they would feel better if they got a good night’s sleep.

Melatonin
Melatonin is a sleep-regulating hormone produced in the pineal gland in the brain, and it plays a significant role in regulating your circadian rhythm (this is the 24-hour wake-sleep cycle that tells you when it’s bedtime, when it’s time to wake, and helps you feel alert and tired).
Various factors, including health issues, aging, exposure to blue light, and others, can disrupt the production of melatonin. And nearly two-thirds of American adults have tried melatonin to help them sleep when they’re struggling. It’s not suitable for everyone, and while it can mimic the natural hormone you produce and top up low levels, it can also interfere with some health conditions and medications, meaning it’s potentially unsafe.
